Melanated Monday Black Business Spotlight: Nashville Chicken and Waffles Food Truck

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Melanated Monday Black Business Spotlight. This is where The Afropreneurial Community will showcase a Black owned businesses event that deserves more of our business. we saw it as only right to showcase the city in a positive light. We will judge every place on accessibility, atmosphere, professionalism, and of course their food/product.

Next stop on our spotlight is The Nashville Chicken & Waffles food truck here in Nashville. They are a food truck located mostly throughout the city and they have a brick and mortar opening up in Hermitage soon. There are some great things to highlight in regards to this event.

It’s a white food truck with their symbol on the side. You can catch them on Instagram at @Nashvillechickenwaffles to see where they will be. It like any food truck you experience in the city. You walk up to a chalk sign menu with different chick and waffle combinations.

When you walk up to the truck you will order at their window after looking at their chalkboard menu. They are at a different part of the city daily serving up their famous Nashville Hot Chicken on mild, medium, and hot levels. You can combine your chicken with fries or waffles. We had our order medium with fries. The chicken is well seasoned with a good kick of spice with crispy crinkle cut fries. The tenders were perfect as they were easy to eat while walking and holding it in your hand. Overall, the food was very good.

The customer service was great. The gentlemen working the truck were super nice and held a good conversation while preparing our food efficiently. They got your food prepared with in 10 minutes of you ordering. That is an efficient time to waiting especially if the line is long and there are several orders lined up. They are willing to explain more about their menu items if you have questions.

Everyone was nice and relaxed at this food truck. We enjoyed the food, the hospitality, and black ownership. This is a good food truck to support and enjoy good chicken, waffles, and/or fries. We are always happy to support Black owned business in Nashville!
