Melanated Monday Black Business Spotlight: The Bean Bag
Welcome to this week’s edition of the Melanated Monday Black Business Spotlight. This is where The Afropreneurial Community will showcase a Black-owned business that deserves more of our business. we saw it as only right to showcase the city in a positive light. We will judge every place on accessibility, atmosphere, professionalism, and of course their food/product.
Next stop on our spotlight is The Bean Bag at 2940 Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch. This is a coffee shop that has plethora of coffee and tea options with homemade baked goods. It is a wonderful space that can be set up to accommodate any event. There are some great things to highlight in regards to their business.
It’s amazing that there’s a chain of businesses that are family-owned by brothers and sisters. This is a great beginning to creating a community that can last generations The parking is good as you can shop for your essential oils to coffee or corned beef sandwiches.
You walk into a large space with a lot of space that is suitable for working. There are high and low top tables for patrons to sit and converse while there is a bar you can sit at that is good for some good solo work. The coffee was delicious, we had their peach coffee iced coffee with non-alcoholic Amaretto and we didn’t need to add anything extra to it. It was the best coffee we’ve had in the city.
The customer service was great. We met with the owner who was more than accommodating for our event when it came to getting coffee and small bites for our next event on September 30th. The space will be perfect for our event. The Bean Bag has great coffee and teas of different flavors from regular dark roast to cinnamon roll tea. The communication was great and easy. Everything is taken care of right in front of you. They believe in promoting black business owners and supporting our community.
The staff was very professional and knowledgeable about their products. They checked on us periodically to make sure we had everything we needed. They were open to all the questions that were asked about the space and their products. we can’t wait to visit the store and patronize them again.
Where should we go next? Let us know in the comments!
